Product description
Jørgen Gammelgaard got the idea for his multi-screen TIP TOP lamp while working for the UN in Samoa. Back in Denmark, he developed the single shade Tip Top lamps into perfect examples of beautiful, well-crafted minimalist Scandinavian design. The design is characterized by the unique anti-glare ring around the lamp, by the small elegant space between the fitting cover and the shade, and by extremely great care in every detail of processing. A simple fluorescent tube was the only light Jørgen Gammelgaard had during his stay in Samoa in the 1960s. To obtain a better quality of light, the light sacrificial tube was placed on top and fitted with a number of custom-cut plastic lids. It became the inspiration for this lamp, which was purchased by the Statens Kunstfond immediately after its presentation. It comes without a bulb. Height 35 cm Diameter 20 cm
