Product description
Sublime, rare large round dish of Swiss Thun enamel pottery, early 1878 - 1890, signed/stamped Schoch-Läderach. In incised terra cotta with stylized flower motifs and geometric friezes, glazed on an extremely pale white/yellow ground in shades of dark green, dark orange-red, yellow and dark blue. Superb craftsmanship. 31cm diameter, 2cm height, center a little hollow. Very good overall condition despite its age, some marks of time however, notably a number of relatively discreet enamel chips/chips, 2 small enamel chips on the center, one a little visible because of the tip of a green leaf, another discreet smaller white on the beige background. Enamel cracked with age, harmonious overall. Approx. 1kg.
Usage.
