Product description
These chairs are the first cantilever models in furniture history.
They were first used in 1927 in the Weißenhofsiedlung, a residential area in Stuttgart, Germany.
From 1925 Mart Stam experimented with gas pipelines, which he connected with flanges. From this he developed the principle of the freely sprung chair that no longer stands on four legs.
The restrained design became an important construction principle in modern furniture history. Initially, the spring effect was not that important to Stam. He concentrated more on the sleek design that fit perfectly into the modern buildings of that time.
With (S 34) or without (S 33) armrests. Chrome-plated tubular steel frame. Covered with core leather. Armrests in solid beech stained in black.
