Product description
The color lithograph "Les temps ont changé depuis Le Mont-Moriah" by Théo Tobiasse depicts that the patriarch Abraham almost sacrificed his son Isaac on Mount Moriah. His son's life, according to the book of Genesis, was narrowly saved by the intervention of an angel (Gen. 22:1-19). According to Jewish and Christian tradition, the Temple Mount is the same mountain as Mount Moriah.
The bearer of the 1975 lithograph, numbered 70, is made paper. The lithograph is framed with a passepartout in a gold-colored wooden frame. The frame measures 77 x 4 x 92 cm. The image is 56 x 73 cm. The lithograph can be picked up or delivered via Whoppa.
Theo Tobiasse (1927-2012) was born in Palestine to parents who came from Lithuania. The early childhood of Theo Tobiasse was greatly influenced by his family's move from Israel to Paris in 1931 and the Nazi occupation of France. His family lived in hiding for two years during World War II.
Theo Tobiasse's paintings and lithographs are known for their expressionist style and bold use of color. They portray people and buildings and evoke a religious theme. Galleries, collectors and other art lovers noticed him, even far beyond France's borders. He soon became popular in New York, Caracas, Tel Aviv and Tokyo.
