Product description
Artist: Title: "Secure Beginnings" Family (1988), Father, Mother with Child Technique: Polystone or Polyresin (crushed stone with resin) Date: 1988 Dimensions approx: 14 x 13 x 16 cm (h x w x d) Weight approx: 1520 grams Signed: Yes, pressure-signed FL(lower right) The artwork is in good condition. In 1988 Frank Letterie was commissioned by Amrobank Nederland to create the bronze sculpture "Gezin" (Family). This sculpture, showing two parents and their child, is owned by the Stichting Wereldkinderen, The Hague. A photograph of it is printed on page 74 of Frank Letterie - Het leven in brons (Eindhoven, 2003) and can also be seen at frankletterie.nl. Amrobank Netherlands ran a campaign in 1988 to acquire new savers. The welcome gift was a polystone sculpture by Frank Letterie. Two figurines were produced under the name "Geborgen begin." Both figurines bore the signature: FL 88. Each figurine came with a numbered certificate of authenticity. The certificate (which referred to the original with the name "Salvaged Beginnings") was dated October 1988. With an initial deposit of f 250, one received the figurine showing a mother with her child. This figurine, contrary to what is stated on the certificate, is not a replica of a large version in bronze. For an initial deposit of f 5000,- one received the figurine showing two parents and their child. This statue is a small version of "Family". The statue is shipped carefully packaged.
Underneath is light wear.
