Very large and unusual "UNICA" wine pitcher by Frans Lommen for Terraco Draak Beesel. The jug bears the Greek text IXOYC ZWNTWN (YELLOWS OF LIFE) with above it a cross - fish and a bread basket. The jug is beautiful in color "gray - cobalt blue combined with yellow ochre. 38 cm high In very good condition... beautiful piece of handmade pottery. About Frans Lommen (Dutch painter). Joseph Franciscus (Frans) Lommen (Roermond, August 2, 1921 - Breda 2005) was a Dutch glass painter and ceramist. He was educated at the Middelbare Kunstnijverheidsschool in Maastricht. Frans Lommen worked for the Beesel ceramics factory St. Joris, where he painted vases, among other things. He made unique pieces, such as vases, for the Terraco products of St. Joris.
