Wirkkala (1915-85) was a Finnish designer and sculptor. Wirkkala's production includes classic art glassware, glassware, household glassware, as well as product packaging and labels. Wirkkala's production includes classic art glassware, Alko beverage bottles and labels, plywood, silver, bronze and many other materials. Wirkkala graduated from the Art and Design Center School in 1936 and later married the respected ceramic artist Rut Bryk.
