This imposing table lamp was designed by Louis kalff (1897-1976) in the 1950s and produced by Phillips with the model name Timor 69. The shade and base are painted matte green, which makes a nice combination with the gold color of the stand. The inside has a light color to increase the reflection of the light. The lamp is marked on the base with the familiar Philips logo. Lamp has been cleaned, checked and is in working condition.
The shape of this lamp seems to have been the inspiration for Louis Kalff for his architectural masterpiece the 'Evoluon' in Eindhoven an exhibition center for science and technology. Louis Kalff is also the designer is of the worldwide famous Philips logo as we still know it. In addition to being an industrial designer, Louis Kalff was also successful as an architect.
