Axel Vervoordt, Belgium 1980, solid oak and bamboo coffee table. Designed and built by the great Belgian decorator and art dealer in the 1980s. Bamboo rolls were ordered from China to cover these custom-made coffee tables. This early-career piece testifies to his interest in Japan and the Wabi-Sabi lifestyle. Conceived as a trendy piece at the time, it gradually became an important and sought-after historical piece. It blends perfectly with rustic, modern and Zen-inspired décor.
