Product description
Very beautiful oil, cider or other jar, XL size (~10 liters) in old 19th-century stoneware made by Puisaye craftsmen in France, semi-glazed/glazed. Large bellied body, short neck framed by 2 rounded handles, all 3 glazed in a dark khaki shade, thick glaze. Top of jar rough, light gray/terracotta stoneware, rest of body glazed in shades of russet, rust, light khaki, beige, gray. Note that it has probably been glazed/glazed upside down, with the glaze forming 2 drips on the top of the handles and some drips on the body towards the top. Approx. 35cm total height, max. diameter 20-22cm. Very good condition, the exterior has been well cleaned, but there are a few flaws and signs of wear, notably a few more or less visible scratches, small bumps and traces of rubbing on the body. Harmonious ensemble. Approx. 4-4,500kg.
Normal wear and tear, see photos and description.
