Iconic space age design chair. Model Rodica designed by Mario Bruno for Comfort. The same company that made Joe Colombo's Elda chair. The Rodica has an egg-shaped shell that sits freely in a fiberglass base. In this way, the chair can be maneuvered in any direction. The foam is original and still in good condition. A common shortcoming is that due to use and age, a crack develops in the foam of the seat. This is not the case with this chair. The top layer of Dacron is completely replaced. The leather was unfortunately beyond repair and has been completely replaced with genuine wool Teddy upholstery. This came from the original owner who bought it over 50 years ago at Metz & co in Amsterdam.
The bowl and base have signs of use such as scratches.
