Product description
Ceramic table lamp with a beautiful glaze in various shades of blue, made by the Danish company Soholm Stentoj.
The wiring appears to be original.
Søholm was founded in 1835 in Rønne, Bornholm, by Herman Sonne Wolffsen (1811-1887) and Edvard Christian Sonne and was thus one of the oldest ceramic factories on Bornholm until its closure in 1996. The name Søholm goes back to the factory where the two founders were previously employed, a faience factory near Copenhagen, 1828-1839 (leased in 1834). In the middle of the 20th century, Søholm produced a wide range of stoneware with different designs and shapes. During the same period, the Danish ceramic artist Einar Johansen was employed at Søholm. He designed and created a wide range of stoneware, and his "blue series" is highly sought after by collectors today.
Excellent - This vintage/antique object is in almost original condition. It may show minimal signs of use and/or minor restoration.
