by Edgar Brandt.
Edgar Brandt was one of the best metalworkers of that period and worked on very prestigious projects at the time.
Highly detailed serpent rising from a woven basket and coiled around an 'Art de France' handcrafted Pate de Ver glass shade.
the snake has a bronze appearance and lifelike patina.
The theme and image of the lamp is the biblical serpent of Adam and Eve.
The original was sold by auction house Christies in 1994 for $76,000.
after the original has been shown, these particular lamps were made approximately 20-30 years after the original lamps that continually break record prices at auction.
The object is still in very good condition.
the glass shade is very neat with virtually no damage.
