A silver caberet (tray on legs) with contoured corners, standing on four feet.
The caberet is hallmarked with various hallmarks. The city hallmark of Delft, Dutch lion, 1st grade hallmark of the province of Holland 935/000 and year letter (crowned H for 1737).
In addition, the axe as tax sign and the crowned B from 1807 as tax stamp (for silver objects that were not stamped in time with the crowned O for old)
Also the hallmark IT of Johannes Tiddens.
The following is known about him: he was probably born in The Hague. On 19-11-1739 Johannes Tiddens was buried in the Nieuwe Kerk in a church grave. He lived next to the town hall on the south side; he had no children. Between 1718 and 1721 Johannes Tiddens became master of the Delft gold and silver guild.
