Product description
Round betel nut box, from Southeast Asia, made entirely of silver. Very detailed machined with various silver techniques (epoussée driven and detailed engraving). Unique workmanship, highly embellished to the smallest detail. Presumably 19th century, but is not certain. Has dents in the tumbled rim, but adds to the charm. Lid hinges very easily and closes with simple with pin lock (probably made of bronze). Betelnut or Sirih was and is used as a type of chewing tobacco.
