Product description
Richard Smeets (Gennep 1955) attended the art academy in Maastricht. Since the eighties his work can be described as lyrical abstract. In his own words, his work is created in three phases. The basis is an experience, a memory, which the painter then materializes in paint and colour.
Richard Smeets makes little use of sketches, but works from the impressions he has in his memory. In his early work we see female nudes, later landscapes, flowers (especially roses) and abstract representations are created.
The screen print you see here is framed. The frame is not new but very presentable.
