Product description
Remé (Danzig, 1941) studied from 1959 to 1962 at the Akademie der Bildenden Kunste in Nuremberg with Prof. Schmitt to study from 1962 to 1964 at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam.
Remé was born at the time of student uprisings, wars and assassinations. The journeys he will make in his later life form an important source of inspiration. After painterly wanderings, he decided in 1968 to make his own contribution to modern art. Create your own image that has never been made before. In Sardinia, a head eventually emerges from his brush strokes. "The Head as a Storehouse of the Human Soul and Intelligence". Later on, an amorphous image emerges with an ever-expanding torso with gradually more and more human proportions. It is the birth of the Remian figure. Characteristic are the clear surface division. Sharply defined shapes and figures together form the dream world created by him. His work is full of iconographic meanings. Umbilical cords, taps, water and springs populate his drawings and pastels. Later, tropical plant shapes and fantasy animals come to mind. Old symbols in a new jacket. Jorg Remé's work can be found in museums at home and abroad, including the Boymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam and the Museum of Modern Art in Strassburg. Dozens of catalogs of his work appeared. In 1977 he won a 1st prize for painting in Knokke-Heist in Belgium.
