Product description
Set of 2 chairs designed by the designer duo Charles & Ray Eames. These chairs were manufactured by Herman Miller in the 1970s.
The shell of the chairs is made of fiberglass and features the original seventies upholstery. This upholstery in brown duotone colors is made of hopsack, an expressive flat-woven fabric made of polyamide.
The chromed metal frame ends on chair pot caps in plastic with felt. The original non-slip caps were worn out and were replaced with original Vitra caps with felt at the bottom. This makes them perfectly usable on all types of floors.
Both chairs are marked at the bottom with the manufacturer's sticker. Both have light signs of use but are in nice vintage condition. The fiberglass at the bottom shows light signs of age but it is certainly not torn. Furthermore, some light stains here and there but this adds to the natural patina and is certainly not distracting (see photos)
The chair was included in the permanent collection of the MoMa in New York very shortly after its design and start of production. And rightly so!
