The stackable chairs that Swiss designer Bruno Rey created for the Dietiker brand in the 1970s are considered icons of postmodern design. Bruno Rey developed a patented screwless connection technique: instead of screws, he used a metal connecting piece stabilized by a special wooden dowel construction.
