Product description
Abstract work Doris Groeneveld came to Bergen around 1970 and was inspired by the area, the Bergen School and members of the Kunstenaars Centrum Bergen. After starting with screen prints of the West Frisian Zeedijk, he transforms impressions fixed in his memory into visual language. These are representations of the "primal" elements of land, air, water and fire. At the end of the eighties the hard primary colors dominate, based on impressions of Spitsbergen. After that, more pastel shades appear in the palette, influenced by Sardinia and Cyprus. In his work, fragments of human presence and landscape flow together. The work is expressive, exciting and has a powerful aura. In his work there is always room for a dissonance that is always incorporated into the harmony. Doris was a member of Drukkerstroost, a Graphic Society consisting of members of the KCB. His observations captured in his work were made in numerous countries and continents. From Spitsbergen to Sardinia, from New Zealand to Ireland and from America to Eenigenburg.
