The family business Sciolari Illuminazione Roma, founded in 1892 by father Sciolari in Rome, Italy.
Son Angelo Gaetano Sciolari who took over the company in 1949 after the sudden death of his father.
In 1954 he won a decisive design competition with his new lighting designs for the family business. At the same time, in addition to the Italian / European market, he also conquered the American market. Sciolari became the first Italian lighting manufacturer on the American market in the 1950s. His fixtures appeared in series such as 'Dallas' 1983, the British Sci-Fi series 'Space' 1999.
He also received design assignments for Stilnovo Milan, Stilkronen Firenze, Progress Lighting (USA), Helestra and Leola (West Germany), Lyfa (Denmark) and there is also talk of SA Boulanger in Belgium.
To this day, Sciolari Illuminazione Roma still exists.
There are some scratches and spots on the metal, consistent with its age and only visible from a very close distance.
