This glass vase from the Contrast Vase series was designed by Anna Ehrner for the Swedish glass company Kosta Boda in the 1980s. The vase is made of thick, heavy, high quality glass. Thanks to the hand-applied decoration of swirling, contrasting calligraphic lines, each Contrast Vase is an exceptional work of art. Rich in detail and strongly expressive in its pattern, it will be perfect for many arrangements.Anna Ehrner was born in 1948 in Danderyd. She is a Swedish designer and glass artist. She has also worked as a teacher at Konstfack. Ehrner is an experimental and frugal designer with a simple but powerful design language and the ability to achieve brilliant colors when used infrequently. Colorful swirling lines within the glass body have become Ehrner's specialty, as well as the curled glass of the Basket and Energy series.Kosta Boda is innovative design with an individual approach. Founded in 1742, the glassworks is Sweden's oldest and continues to produce timeless, high quality glass. Kosta Boda has retained its historical charm and traditional production methods, while developing modern techniques that expand the possibilities for designer expression. Creating glass that continues to delight the world today and the next generation. In 1976, the company name was changed to Kosta Boda AB. Kosta Boda has been part of Orrefors Kosta Boda AB since 1989.
