She is known for her ceramics, lamps and other objets d'art. Stentoj studied ceramics at the Danish National School of Ceramics in Bornholm. After graduating in 1959, she worked as a designer for several Danish companies, including Bing & Grøndahl and Norden. In 1968, she founded her own company, Désirée Stentoj. Stentoj's ceramics are characterized by their simple shapes and geometric patterns. She often uses bright colors and bold contrasts. Her lamps are also very popular. They are generally made of ceramic and feature simple geometric shapes. Stentoj is an important figure in Danish mid-century design. His work is exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide.
