Rudolf Horn is regarded as the design pope and the most important furniture designer in the GDR. He is the creator of the well-known furniture program Deutsche Werkstätten (MDW) Dresden-Hellerau.
The interior designer, who also taught for a long time as a professor at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle, brought a kick into the apartments of real socialism and beyond with his creative ideas. His lounge furniture was only exported to the west or found use in representative buildings and by high-ranking citizens. Horn's furniture can still be found in numerous German apartments today. Horn designed furnishings for life...of the highest quality...

The photos are highly exposed so that the 1a condition can also be seen in detail! The shine on the photos or greyish areas are due to exposure or lighting (reflections), in real life the leather is satin matt and jet black.

Condition:
Technically and visually, the lounge sofa is in perfect and unique condition. It has been lovingly restored by the restorer. The leather has been regenerated, recolored, sealed and newly cared for. It has no stains, scratches, tears or holes, is completely odorless and has a nice soft feel. Otherwise, apart from the slight leather folds in the seating area that are typical of casual upholstery (no foam unit is used here, but down or down-like substitutes), it looks like new. The pillows are nice and voluminous and not sunken. The covering is perfect. The beautiful chrome runners also look like new and don't have the usual quirks and scratches. We also renewed the underside tension fabric at the same time.
Again, it should be extremely difficult to "top" the condition, probably once again the best that is available worldwide.
