This classic cantilever chair by Heinrich Pfalzberger, manufactured by Pfalzberger Design in Basel, is an excellent example of Swiss design from the 1960s. It combines functionality and aesthetics in a timeless Bauhaus style and is perfect for dining rooms, offices or stylish living rooms. In contrast to the cantilever chairs of the 1920s, Pfalzberger dispensed with tensioning brackets under the seat and developed an innovative construction in which the seat and back frames were designed in separate tubes and joined together to counteract tensile forces.
