The woolen fabric, anthracite in color, and suspension are in good condition. Last reupholstery was about five years ago. The wooden railings have been returned to their original condition.
The Gelderland sofa bed was designed by Rob Parry for Gelderland in ca.1960. Rob Parry was a student and collaborator of Gerrit Rietveld. This sofa is slender in shape and can also be placed freely in the room. With a simple movement, this sofa pulls out into a single bed. The version with railings is rare.
