Product description
Stately desk designed by Torbjørn Afdal (1917-1999) for Bruksbo, Norway in the 1960s. This desk is made of the high-quality material Rio Rosewood, which today is a protected wood species. Torbjorn Afdal was one of Norway's most famous furniture designers. He began his career as a designer at Bruksbo after graduation and was soon promoted to chief designer. For three decades, Bruksbo was one of the leading design firms for quality furniture in Norway. In fact, in the 1960s, the majority of Norway's furniture exports were designed by Bruksbo. Torbjørn Afdal's work is mainly characterized by minimalism, where precisely the material and its fixings or connections were allowed to be the striking design element. His work is of high quality, and this has not gone unnoticed either. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy and the Japanese emperor were among the buyers of his designs. Should you also like to become one of the lucky ones who gets to enjoy Afdals design, this desk is for sale and measures 140 cm by 80 cm deep and 76 cm high. We have placed a Rosewood chair by Johannes Andersen with the desk in the picture. This chair is for sale separately.
The desk is in good vintage condition. The key is no longer present.
