Product description
Superb painting by Richard Lee barton.
Richard Lee Barton was born in Arkansas (1952) and moved to Belgium at the age of nineteen, where he developed his own style in painting. He came into contact with two Flemish masters who taught him for many years: the realist Louis Jacques Camerlinckx (1920-1989) and the expressionist Staf van Elzen (1915-1987), he took a course at the Academy of Antwerp.
First he painted impressionist landscapes, later he developed a more expressionist style, and also painted abstract flowers and figures. Years later, his work moved more toward abstract expressionism. After 9/11 he painted only flowers for a while, creating colorful works in a very positive way. His talent was noticed at a very young age, at fifteen he won the State Prize for Drawing, an important prize.
In Belgium, he founded an art group called "Asikan 22.40." This art group arose as a reaction to society and was formed by a number of artists who organized exhibitions together, especially in Belgium.
Former President Bill Clinton visited a number of Richard Lee Barton's exhibitions in Little Rock and HM Queen Beatrix has "'"'one of his works in her collection.
Richard Lee Barton's paintings are very colorful and remain beautiful, even after years you can see new shapes and striking hues. These works have a very unusual look, they inspire and make you feel good.
The works are very spontaneous and built up layer by layer. They are rich in color and it is easy to daydream. The quality is strong and expressive. The positive effect of the work is not easy to describe in words, you have to see the work in real life.
There were many exhibitions of his work, one of the breakthroughs was the presence of his work at pAn Amsterdam, an important Dutch art fair. He was represented by Galerie Mia Joosten. Richard Lee Barton took a new direction, the work became much lighter and more abstract. According to Uri Geller, he is one of the best painters in the field of abstract expressionism. Beautifully framed in aluminum Nielsen bin frame.
