Very rare set of 4 authentic Thonet no. 8 chairs.
Excellent condition. These chairs date from around 1920. All four with Thonet seals and stamps under the seat.
Obviously signs of wear, but construction 100% solid and stable. Beautiful patina.
I cleaned, checked and buffed the seats with brown beeswax.
After some searching in catalogs and online I discovered that this is Thonet chair no. 8. first appeared in 1904. At that time without the "bentwood" details in the back and under the seat.
A truly unique set of chairs!
