Product description
Extremely rare office chair by legendary designers Charles & Ray Eames. A true eye-catcher and collectors item for lovers of iconic design from the mid-20th century.
Produced from 1968 to 1973 by Herman Miller. The office chair that Eames himself used and is still on display in the office of Charles Eames that still looks exactly as it did when he died in 1978. See last photo.
A stunning appearance with the cobalt blue hopsack fabric, the chrome-plated aluminum base and the shiv function, so it swivels. The chair is in very good vintage condition with signs of use appropriate for age and wear. The clothing is original, flawless and still in good shape. A one of a kind after almost sixty years.
Charles and Ray called this design "intermediate" because it was between the Eames Aluminum Desk Chair and the Eames Executive Chair in terms of price and weight. Eames Office introduced this unique chair in 1968. Available at the time with or without armrests and with or without casters, these chairs were designed as richly detailed executive office chairs. Frame, armrests and base are polished aluminum.
