Rare Dutch armchair with sculptural design. This armchair comes from the progressive Pro-Pos series of the firm Hulmefa of Nieuw Pekela. Best known from this series are the "Koehoor/Cowhorn chairs". What many people do not know is that the firm Tijsseling, together with Hulmefa, produced, in addition to these chairs, even more furniture in the typical and then very progressive Pro-Pos series. This type of armchair, with its great design and beautiful details can rightly be called a Dutch Design Classic! The finish, the use of materials and the distinctive design, combined with the fact that this model is almost exclusively found in the Netherlands, makes this chair very rare and sought after on the international market. The details make this piece of furniture, just look at the beautiful design of the armrests where they transition to the backrest, executed in solid teak this is a strong piece of craftsmanship. This example has been owned for many years by a previous true lover and in very clean original condition, the wooden frame is very well cared for, as is the period correct ploughwool upholstery. The armchair is very solid and heavy duty and as such immediately usable, a beautiful and very value furniture, timelessly beautiful and futureproof!
