The previous owner of this beautiful cabinet did not tell me anything about it, but the cabinet has the typical hexagonal shape of an antique bridal cabinet. As is traditional, this cabinet is hand-painted. The red color and the later added handles on the slide also give the cabinet an Oriental allure. The cabinet is demountable, it can be split in two lengthwise as shown in the pictures. The cabinet is 180cm high and 126,5cm wide, including the decorative border of 5cm. The cabinet is 52cm deep, again including the decorative border.
The cabinet has many old traces of woodworm and unfortunately some new ones. Before shipping, the cabinet will still be treated against woodworm. This has also been done very extensively in the past. Occasional re-treatment is always recommended with antique pieces.
