Vintage large round to oval dining table 'JP2-5' designed by Grete Jalk for furniture maker Poul Jeppesen, Denmark 1965. This iconic dining table can easily accommodate 12 guests, a paragon of midcentury style dining. She was designed by one of the grandes dames of Danish Design, Grete Jalk. Danish furniture maker Poul Jeppesen crafted it in 1965. This is a rare museum piece that was saved from demolition and restored back to its original function and design. This table is made of teak veneer with an elegant pattern and a finely inlaid rounded edge. The table legs are loose and can be disassembled. You can extend the table from round to oval and from 135 cm to 245 cm with 2 extensions. At the bottom it carries two labels with the maker's mark Poul Jeppesen and designer Grete Jalk. The overall condition is good with a timeless patina, solid structure and only minor signs of previous life. The sliding system underneath has been professionally restored. The table top itself still shows some light wear: light scratches and some small dents.
