This is a beautiful mega large Snowball or Louvre as this lamp is also called. This lamp was made in the 1960s. The designer of this lamp is Poul Henningsen. This lamp is made by Louis Poulsen in Denmark The Louvre pendant lamp was originally designed by Poul Henningsen in 1957 for the Advent Church in Skodsborg Hydro Denmark at the request of the architect Charles Gjerrild who asked Henningsen to design an economical but attractive fixture. Henningsen used his previously designed "Spiral" lamp (1942) as inspiration. The PH Louvre contains 13 matte white-coated aluminum rings and provides 100% glare-free light everywhere. A striking yet highly functional object.
