Vintage modular Mid - Century wall system designed by Poul Cadovius for Cado Denmark in the 1950s.
Three wall slats and 12 shelves: Dimensions (total in photo): 165cm wide x 200cm high
* 3 wall slats of 200cm
* 8 shelves 80cm wide x 24cm deep
* 6 shelves 80cm wide x 20cm deep.
Complete with matching brackets and (extra) supports. The system is modular and can be assembled, and expanded as desired. Because the cabinet is mounted on the wall, slightly above the ground, it looks very light. When the cabinet is full, the shelves are less noticeable, but you still notice the design, subtly in the background (see last photo).
In very good condition with no damage. Slight traces of use.

Poul Cadovius, a Danish designer and manufacturer, was born in 1911 and founded his furniture factory Royal Systems in 1945. In 1948, he designed the revolutionary Royal System modular shelving system, which became iconic for modern design in the 1950s and 1960s. Between 1964 and 1967, he bought the France & Søn factory, which he renamed CADO, and worked with well-known Danish designers such as Finn Juhl. Cadovius registered more than 400 patents and left an important legacy. He died in 2011 at the age of 99.
