Ceiling lamp designed by Louis Christiaan Kalff for Philips. The shade is made of thin fiberglass; in the 1950s, this was a forerunner of plastic lighting fixtures. Fiberglass is transparent, the light shines through it with a nice warm tint. The lamp also gives a nice reflection on the ceiling. This ceiling lamp is a wonderful example of Dutch design from the fifties.
The lamp is in neat vintage condition and working. The shade has two minimal damages on the edge, which have been transparently restored. (photo 7 & 8 )
