Silkscreen on handmade paper. Including perspex (change) frame. Due to the transparency of the frame, the screen print seems to float. Work from 1986. Signed, numbered 44/90 Peter Schenk (Amersfoort, 1944 - 2011) Peter Schenk was born in Amersfoort in 1944 and was educated at the Amsterdam Academy. The artist's oeuvre is extensive and his signature is unmistakable. His 'dynamic monumental art', as he typifies his work, stands for large forms with moving elements. Spatial, basic, energetic and sensual are keywords. Peter Schenk is an artist who constantly renews his artistic approach. This happens partly under the influence of the atmospheres and elements of the different countries he visits. A favorite destination is Japan, for example, where he has mastered the art of papermaking. However, the influence of the East does not stop there. In addition to the self-made paper, you also regularly see organic lines and figures drawn with a long brush in black Japanese ink in his work. With Schenk, figuration and abstraction flow smoothly into each other like two languages that complement each other. The works have a poetic atmosphere and, in a sense, they tell a story. Peter Schenk's work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs all over the world and has been included in various museum collections.
