Klashorst was born February 11, 1957 in Santpoort (North Holland). In his younger years Klashorst was educated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. After this (1980s), Klashorst quickly created a furore and was counted among the Nieuwe Wilde. Not much later he starts an artist collective 'After Nature'. This collective rebels against the prevailing abstract expressionism. During his career, Klashorst sometimes changed his painting style to the surprise of his audience. These painting styles have been shown in exhibitions all over the world.
Klashorst is certainly one of our favorite artists. We are not the only ones who have this opinion. Klashorst has won several prizes in his career, such as the royal subsidy for painting and the Buning Brongers prize.
