Very nice unique painting by Brigitte Bardot on linen by Peter Donkersloot.
Total dimensions 76 x 66 cm.
Acrylic paint on linen and painted over the wooden solid baroque frame.
The beautiful painting is completely painted and is therefore a unique work.
Signed by hand, of course.
Peter Donkersloot (8 April 1959) was born in Arnhem. After his studies at the Art Academy in Arnhem, Peter worked as a freelance illustrator for various publishers and advertising agencies. In his spare time he painted artistically. At the end of 1987 he discovered that work and ambition were no longer compatible and he forced himself to make a decision.
Peter Donkersloot paints according to the old 'layer over layer' tradition. Transpiring layers on top of each other give the paintings more depth and the colors are 'warmer'. This cannot be achieved by coloring directly from the tube.
The old mistress worked in the same way with homemade oil-based paints. Due to the slow drying, they had to wait, sometimes even weeks, before they could add an extra layer.
This is why many artists, such as Donkersloot, now work with the fast drying acrylic (water based) to achieve the same effects.
