Product description
Beautiful rug from the Gabbeh brand made of wool and beautifully woven. Gabbeh carpets are traditional tribal carpets knotted by the Quashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in western Iran. The word Gabbeh comes from Farsi and can be translated to rough, uncut or unfinished, which is very appropriate since Gabbeh carpets have a rough and primitive appearance. Persian Gabbeh carpets were mainly for personal use and were not influenced by commercial demand, as was the case with many other Persian carpets. As a result, the carpets are still a combination of the craftsmanship and artistic expression of the weaver. Very typical are simple designs inspired by nature, with images of everyday nomadic life in beautiful color combinations, as well as the plain monochrome ton sur ton carpets without figurative elements or with very small details. Persian Gabbeh rugs are usually woven at home by Nomads or semi-Nomads using hand-spun Persian wool and natural dyes. They are characterized by their thick wool pile of up to 2.5 cm or more, making them very comfortable to walk on. Gabbeh rugs give your home a cozy feel and are also a great way to absorb sound in a larger room.
