Product description
Persian carpet after Mondrian's composition in red, blue and yellow (1930) Dimensions : ca. 202 x 200 cm, hand-knotted in Iran ca.1989 At the end of '80 last century, a group of architecture students of the TH Darmstadt took the initiative to use a small series (6 pieces, each carpet a different motif from this series ) of Mondrian's paintings (period 1930) as an example to have 6 high-quality carpets according to Persian tradition made in Iran. Conveniently, at that time a number of Iranian students were also studying at this TH for Architecture in Darmstadt. The link was of course quickly made, one of the Iranian students had family in the carpet industry, and after a somewhat complicated process, one was not used to a straight line pattern, but traditional round / curved etc. it all worked out in the end. The Persian carpet offered for sale from me I bought new in 1989 from this group of aspiring architects, including some personal acquaintances. I am 1st owner since 1989. The unique carpet is of a very good quality and knotted entirely in Iran traditionally ( Persian). Some of the pictures show the number of knots (backside) (approx. 1550 per square inch) = approx. 350,000 knots per m2. 350,000 knots per m2 already require a particularly high level of experience and skill. This quality is called FINE. PS: the photos show my shadow on the carpet caused by sunlight behind me while shooting, so these are not stains or any wear!
hardly any discolouration
