"Un air de pipeau devant le moulin" by HD , oil on canvas by Lin, late 19th/early 20th century. In the style of Karl Feiertag or Nicolaas Wilhelm Jungmann. These little Dutch characters were the pride and joy of many postcard publishers, both in Europe (Belgium, Holland, Germany) and America.
Canvas: 46 x 38 cm.
Some light, fine craquelure and missing material, hidden by framing. Good overall condition for a piece dating back at least a century. Possibility of slight restoration for optimal rendering. Sold framed in solid chestnut.
