Product description
Beautiful ceiling lamp from the 1970s called 'Artichoke' by the famous brand Peill & Putzler. This lamp is made of sturdy opaline glass and spreads beautiful light. The lamp is in perfect condition and thus without chips or cracks. This series, of which table lamps were also made (is also listed in my other ads) was awarded the iF Design Award in 1975. "The iF DESIGN AWARD, first awarded in 1953, is the oldest independent design seal in the world. It is a symbol of design excellence that focuses on the innovative power of design." Dimensions are 28 cm (diameter). Height is adjustable. Peill & son was founded in 1903 and merged with Putzler (founded in 1869) in 1947 continuing under the name "Peill + Putzler Glashüttenwerke. Throughout its existence, the company has collaborated with important designers as well as other companies such as Raak Amsterdam and Massive. At its peak (1950s), some 1,500 people worked for the company. Unfortunately, in 2004, a year after their 100th anniversary, the company was declared bankrupt.
