Product description
A 1950s desk by American designer Paul McCobb (1917-1969), in blond maple (model 1560), in excellent, meticulously maintained condition. This desk is distinguished by its rectangular top, supported on the left by a pedestal with two drawers decorated with round metal handles, resting on short tapered legs. On the right side, two tapered legs give the desk a light, elegant look, typical of McCobb's modernist style. These desks sell in the United States for more than $4,000 (excluding shipping) in comparable condition. It is possible to find cheaper models, but with more signs of wear. Paul McCobb is known for his minimalist and functional approach. His designs, such as this desk, embody a subtle balance between simplicity and sophistication, part of a modern, timeless aesthetic.
