Lithograph representing the rue des visitandines in Brussels, produced by Paul Hagemans (1884-1959). Titled, numbered and signed in pencil 45/50 Circa 1940. Series of his representations of the “war sketches” of Brussels. Red, black, blue and washes of gray tones. Pictorial style by spot of bright juxtaposed colors, typical of the work of Paul Hagemans. Rue des Visitandines is located in the center of Brussels, and today has been demolished for the construction of a large real estate complex. Son of the painter Maurice Hagemans and brother of the artist Germaine Hagemans, Paul Hagemans was a luminist painter, post-impressionist, lithographer and engraver.
