Product description
Very nice screen print, on BFK Rives paper. Very good print quality, with beautiful colors and underlaid with white, giving the colors an extra bright look. The work is signed in print and annotated in pencil in lower right corner '5. 200 Edition, 18b, 6-'85 S.F.'
Posthumous edition after a work by Patrick Nagel. When Playboy published its 'Thirtieth anniversary' issue, it contained an entertaining article by Anton Chekhov. Patrick Nagel illustrated this article with ten headlines. Sensual, provocative and typically 80s. Eccentric hairstyles, big earrings, lots of makeup. After his death in 1984, these illustrations were used for these screen prints. Patrick Nagel was an American artist and illustrator. He created popular illustrations on cardboard, paper and canvas, most of which emphasize the female form in a distinctive style descended from Art Deco and pop art.
The work is in very good condition.
