Cees Braakman was an important Dutch furniture designer who became best known for his chair designs made of wire steel for Pastoe.
Braakman did many designs for Pastoe and, according to the company, had a great influence on the company's designs. He led the Pastoe design team from 1945-1978 and developed the first post-war modern furniture line for the company. In addition, he created a coherent collection of furniture that focused primarily on functionality as utilitarian objects.
