Product description
A pair of leather office chairs dating from 1979 and designed by the German industrial designer, Richard Sapper (1932-2015), for the Knoll company. Based in Italy, Richard Sapper is famous all over the world. He studied philosophy, anatomy, engineering, graphic design and economics. He has received several awards including ten Compasso d'Oro awards, the Lucky Strike Award from the Raymond Loewy Foundation (1992) and the Grand Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (2012). His main interest is in the design of technically complex objects, from boats to watches, Sapper continues to create many design classics, such as the Sapper Office Chair series for Knoll in 1979.
These pieces of furniture are known for their timeless design and are covered in black leather with stitching on the back and seat.
The armrests are made of black grained plastic.
The whole ensemble is supported by a star-shaped foot with five branches, which are themselves based on large round black metal glides. This pivoting foot allows several adjustments thanks to the presence of a lever on each side: one on the left allowing the adjustment of the height of the seat and a second one, on the right, allowing to adapt the degree of inclination of the seat. These levers are in perfect working order.
Ergonomic, aesthetic and comfortable, this pair of world-famous creations will obviously find its place in an office or a bedroom.
