Product description
This set of two modern chairs was manufactured in Mauser, Germany during the 1970s. The frame was made from solid anodized aluminum tubulars and it is characteristic for Mausers design. The upholstery is original and is in brow color. The seat is located on belts.
The history of the Mauser company dates back to 1896, when Alfons Mauser opened a factory for metal products - Zaunkönig. In 1903, Mauser also developed hermetic, lockable iron sheet steel drums for the chemical and petroleum industries, which became known as the Mauser Patent Barrels. From 1930, the Mauser-Werke company produced chairs made of cantilevered steel pipes according to its own designs. The Mauser offered desks, conference tables, club tables, and filing cabinets. The Waldeck factory produced tubular steel seating elements such as single chairs and multi-seat club benches. In the early 1950s, the Mauser-Libelle seating furniture, designed by Walter Papst, appeared on the market and became design icons of the post-war period. Furniture in the Mid-Century Modern style, which Mauser has been producing since 1929, is today a sought-after design classic. In 1997, Mauser was still considered the leading-size furniture manufacturer in Germany.
The armchairs are in very good vintage condition. The seat is 42 cm high.
