Pair of "Fledermaus" / No.728 chairs designed by Josef Hoffmann for the Wiener Werkstätte in 1906 and produced by J. & J. Kohn. In 1907, Cabaret Fledermaus opened in Vienna. The Wiener Werkstätte supplied the interior furnishings, including this chair on which guests could sit backwards to look at the stage. Frame in stained beech wood. Everything original!
